Siddhartha

I recently read the book, “Siddhartha”. Some of the interesting quotes that i felt i need to share are…

“Knowledge can be communicated not wisdom…” – Siddhartha

“Meditation is a flight from the self, it is a temporary escape from the torment of Self” – Siddhartha

“He whose reflective pure spirit sinks into Atman Knows bliss inexpressible through words” – Govinda, Siddhartha's friend

“Opinions mean nothing, they may be beautiful or ugly, clever or foolish” – Gautam Buddha

“I must judge for myself. I must choose and reject” – Siddhartha

“You know how to speak cleverly, my friend. Be on your guard against too much cleverness” – Gautam Buddha

“One can beg, buy, be presented with love in the streets, but it can never be stolen” – Kamala, a courtesan and Siddhartha’s lover

Even the great Samana stammers while expressing love :-)

“Nothing is caused by daemons; there are no daemons. Everyone can perform magic, everyone can reach his goal, if he can think, wait and fast” – Siddhartha

“People suffer and grow grey for things that did not worth the price – for money, small pleasures ad trivial honours…
